Meet Debbie & Elliot – Founders of Dunbar Outdoor Learning 🌿✨
At Dunbar Outdoor Learning, we’re proud to have a team that’s passionate about giving children the very best start and at the heart of it all is our founder, Debbie & Elliot.
Debbie has spent many years working as a childminder, gaining invaluable experience caring for and supporting children. Her love of early years education and her vision for outdoor learning led her to create Dunbar Outdoor Learning, a place where children can explore, grow and learn in a natural, inspiring environment.
Why their role matters 💚
As the founder, Debbie & Elliot’s role goes far beyond running the nursery. They set the tone, values and vision for everything we do, ensuring that children are given the best opportunities to develop their confidence, creativity and love of learning. Debbie’s experience as a childminder means she truly understands the importance of nurturing children in a safe and supportive environment and she leads by example every day.
The power of outdoor learning 🌳
They are strong believers in the importance of outdoor learning. Spending time in nature allows children to explore, problem-solve and develop resilience in ways that indoor environments can’t always provide. Families love that their children are learning through play, adventure and real-world experiences. Debbie ensures that our outdoor setting is both engaging and safe for every child.
Life outside the nursery 🌸
When they aren’t at Dunbar Outdoor Learning, Debbie and Elliot enjoy exploring the local environment with their three children, embracing the same sense of adventure and curiosity that they encourage in the nursery. They also love being involved in the community, sharing their passion for nature, learning and childhood development wherever they can.
Looking ahead 🌟
Debbie & Elliot’s dedication and vision continue to inspire everyone at Dunbar Outdoor Learning. By creating a nursery that prioritises outdoor experiences, they not only shaping the way children learn but also helping families see the value of connecting with nature from a young age.
