OUR FOUNDERS

At Dunbar Outdoor Learning, we’re proud to have a team that’s passionate about giving children the very best start and at the heart of it all is our founders, Debbie & Elliot.

Debbie has spent many years working as a childminder, gaining invaluable experience caring for and supporting children. Her love of early years education and her vision for outdoor learning led her to create Dunbar Outdoor Learning, a place where children can explore, grow and learn in a natural, inspiring environment.

OUR NURSERY MANAGER

We’d love to introduce you to Samantha, our fantastic Nursery Manager here at Dunbar Outdoor Learning! 

Samantha has worked in nurseries for several years and brings a huge amount of knowledge, care, and dedication to her role. She’s also currently working toward her PDA Level 9 in Childhood Practice, showing just how committed she is to developing her skills and giving the very best to the children, families, and staff she supports.

When she’s not at nursery, Samantha is a busy mum to two boys who keep her on her toes! She loves spending quality time with her family and she also has a big passion for open water swimming 🏊‍♀️ a hobby that shows her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors, which fits perfectly with the ethos of our nursery.

OUR DEPUTY MANAGER

We’d love to introduce you to Jordan, our wonderful Deputy Manager here at Dunbar Outdoor Learning! ✨ 

Jordan has been working and volunteering in nurseries for over 10 years, completing her qualifications along the way and building up so much experience in early years education. She has a real passion for helping children grow and thrive and it shines through in everything she does. 

When she’s not at nursery, Jordan loves spending time with her daughter and family. You’ll often find them out and about in the community, going on adventures together and enjoying the outdoors which makes her the perfect fit for our nursery’s approach to learning through nature.

OUR MODERN APPRENTICE

At Dunbar Outdoor Learning, we’re proud to have a team full of people who are passionate about helping children grow, explore and learn and today, we want to introduce you to Charlot, one of our wonderful modern apprentices!

Charlot joined us after spending several years as a stay at home mum, homeschooling her three daughters. She’s now bringing all of her experience, creativity, and dedication into the nursery, while working towards her early years qualification.

OUR MODERN APPRENTICE

At Dunbar Outdoor Learning, we love celebrating the people who make our nursery such a special place. Today, we’d like you to meet Kayleigh, our brilliant modern apprentice!

Kayleigh joined us after working as a nanny for several years, bringing with her valuable experience of caring for and supporting children. Now she’s combining that experience with her studies as she works towards her early years qualification, an exciting step in her journey into nursery life.

OUR LEAD PRACTITIONER

We’re so lucky at Dunbar Private Nursery to have a team full of people who truly care about giving children the very best start and one of those people is Gemma, our amazing lead practitioner!

Gemma has been working in nurseries for a number of years, gaining her qualifications along the way, and building up lots of experience in early years education. She’s now taking the next exciting step in her journey by working towards her Forest School Leadership qualification which means even more outdoor adventures ahead for the children!
